Junior Wrap Round 2
Under 16s
The under 16 combined Hinterland Coolum Blues went to Maroochydore to play the gold team both teams had players out for power representative duties.
The boys going down by 33 points
Score 11.7-73 to 5.10-40
Our combined team has 29 registered players but had a long injury list from our previous win over Noosa, with only 19 available for the match.
The boys started well with contested possession and turnovers in our favour. The boys took the advantage and we kicked to a lead with a strong wind and momentum at half-time.
A head Clash that saw two of our best players for the day Lachlan and new 1st gamer Rok had to be assisted to the sidelines to receive medical attention and trips to hospital for stitches and surgery for their open wounds.
This seemed to be a tipping point as the Roos came out with increased intensity, a fresh interchange on a hot day with a strong wind and scored heavily in the third quarter.
The boys regrouped however going into the last quarter and held them goalless in the last.
The boy’s effort was great and could hold their heads High for it was a win to each team in each half
unfortunately, the Blues going down but vowing to train harder with more voice to be able to sustain their intensity for four quarters next time.
We will lick our wounds, recover and have some players back for next week’s Coolum home game against the other Maroochydore green team.
Thank you to all players for working so hard on the field, being punctual and organised and to the parents for cheering loudly for all our positive plays throughout the day. It was a really exciting match.
All our best to Lachlan Wilson as he went to Brisbane to get further treatment and hopefully ok for rep game to cairns.
Alright that’s it from me, another fantastic weekend of junior footy from the Blues.
